Kris Ospina, RD, LDN, CEDRD
Navigating the complicated world of nutrition as it relates to our overall health and well-being is nothing short of overwhelming. My mission as a dietitian is to help those who struggle with eating disorders sort through this abundance of nutrition information and not only understand the miraculous way food works to help nourish our bodies, but to foster a positive and normalized relationship with food while moving away from the toxicity of diet culture.
I am a Certified Eating Disorder Registered and Licensed Dietitian with 20 years of experience helping adults, adolescents and their families recover from eating disorders. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Michigan State University in 1993 and went on to complete my dietetic internship through Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. Most recently, I earned my CEDRD (Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian) certification through the Illinois Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of settings including long term care facilities, hospitals, and corporate wellness venues. My favorite of these, by far, has been my work in the behavioral health community! I have extensive experience at the residential, partial hospital and intensive outpatient levels of care and currently serve as the Clinical Nutrition Manager for the Eating Recovery Center/Pathlight Mood and Anxiety Center in Northbrook, IL.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family including my tenacious Yorkie named Dexter, cooking, baking (yes, I eat chocolate!) and getting outside to enjoy the immense beauty of nature. If it weren’t for my many strong ties to the city of Chicago you would find me living out west, nestled in the mountains of Colorado, enjoying all that the Centennial state has to offer.
I am in-network with BCBS PPO plans and licensed in IL.
