Madison Maciejewski, MS
My name is Madison Maciejewski, and I am glad you are here! If you are experiencing concerns related to life transitions, anxiety, anger management, depression, eating and body-image, trauma, or relationship concerns (to name a few), I look forward to working with you!
I truly believe that each individual is the expert of their own life. I am here to assist with and facilitate the reflection, organization, and processing of your inner knowledge as it relates to your concerns! I approach therapy from a person-centered lens, encouraging clients to be engaging and active in session while I support, reflect, and collaboratively guide each session alongside my clients. I also pull from theories including family systems, interpersonal theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy to implement supplementary interventions as fits each individual client. I aim to create a space of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard that allows you to explore your own life, both in the context of your experiences and how you show up in the here and now. Facilitating the process of building and sustaining positive relationships, like the therapeutic alliance I seek to have with each individual, is something I model and encourage with my clients in session. If you are ready to begin the work toward progressing in the direction and areas of life you would like to see yourself go, we will work well together!
I am a Master’s-level counselor working toward earning my Licensed Professional Counselor license in the state of Illinois. I work under the knowledgeable supervision of psychotherapist and practice co-owner, Dr. Jennie Ozan, Psy.D. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical/Community Mental Health Psychology at Western Illinois University. I have experience providing therapy within settings including community mental health and the college/university population (both traditional and non-traditional students). I also took part in the Eating Concerns Assessment and Treatment Team (ECATT) during my time as a counselor at Illinois State University where I worked in close proximity with physicians, nurses, and dieticians to provide collaborative, comprehensive care to my clients with eating concerns. In addition, I have experience working with clients ages 10 to 55 years old, coming from a range of diverse backgrounds. I have the most experience working with those 18-30 years of age. Clients I have worked with have come to me with presenting concerns that include handling life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, eating concerns, relationships, self-esteem concerns, and more. Do not hesitate to reach out to get a better understanding if we would be a good fit together!
Positive relationships can begin with relating to and knowing more about an individual, so here is some more about myself! When I am not within the office, I enjoy spending time with loved ones outside, listening to whichever Taylor Swift, snuggling with my pets, re-reading The Hunger Games trilogy (again!), or jumping rope!
