Mary Beth Kacyn, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for supporting individuals and families through significant life adjustments that affect our social-emotional well-being: parenting, supporting children and adolescents with anxiety and depression, navigating family or spousal relationship issues, and handling career stressors are at the forefront of my experience.
I am most energized by learning about and equipping others with the tools necessary to develop and better themselves. Everyone’s story is different, and everyone’s needs are unique.
I hold my Master’s degree from the University of Chicago and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Dartmouth College. I played and co-captained the Varsity Women’s Tennis team at Dartmouth, and I enjoy working with adolescent or college athletes on everything ranging from anxiety-related performance challenges to finding one’s identity beyond the sport. Before practicing therapy, I had the opportunity to work as a leader in corporate strategy for a healthcare company that went public during my time there.
I believe that most anyone can benefit from therapy. Whether you are experiencing a truly stressful event or simply wanting to be proactive about your mental health, my goal is to prioritize you through life’s challenges, and help you figure out how you can be your authentic self in an effort to navigate this world a little more comfortably and confidently.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy time with my husband, three children, and our dog! We love to play tennis and golf, catch a great musical in Chicago or NYC, spend time with extended family, and go out to eat.
I am in-network with BCBS PPO and United PPO plans and am licensed in IL.
